Boys Day

This Gogatsu Ningyo was a gift for the little one. The kabuto (helmet) is supposed to represent protection of the spirit and body. At least, that’s what I know of the symbolism, but since we’re rather far removed from Japanese culture it’s hard to say what traditions continue to be kept and what changes over time.
