My dad got his imaging results today. The bad news is that he still has cancer. The good news is that it appears to be isolated, and the doctor is rather confident that surgery can remove the malignant cells.

An x-ray and ultrasound session have been scheduled two weeks from now to make sure. Then the following Tuesday will be the consultation, where I imagine the doctor will outline the next procedures to take.

Something my dad mentioned, about the use of “robotic” surgery. I had visions of mechanical arms performing delicate operations on the human body and thought, “Wow, what an age we live in!” The doctors will probably use something called a da Vinci surgical system, which is what, apparently, is used in the removal of prostate cancer.

That’s news to me.
