Fear the Crab

In “miniature” news, I volunteered for a community project to raise money for Child’s Play. This was organized by the Warhammer 40K forum at Relic News, a THQ company that released the Dawn of War video games. This project involved forum members donating painted miniatures for the Blood Ravens space marine chapter, since they were an original army created by Relic with the approval of Games Workshop. The goal is to combine everyone’s contributions and put the entire painted force up for sale, with all proceeds donated to Child’s Play.

Of course, if all that seemed confusing, maybe the blog can explain it better. The buyer gets a fully-painted and playable army, Child’s Play gets money, win-win!

I am personally donating some Scout Marine Bikers, a squad of Sternguard, and a Dreadnought.

The red on the Dreadnought was too bright, but I didn’t notice it until after the photo. I’ve since subdued the color with a layering of a deep red wash, and I think that brought it more in line with the rest of the models.

UPDATE! Back in February I had entered the Lukas the Trickster miniature in the local Games Day painting competition. Seems I wowed the judges enough that I got Honorable Mention. I just never mentioned it until now.
